About

Hi! I'm Angbeen Saleem and I'm a Pakistani Muslim multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and writer with over a decade of experience in nonprofit communications. Most recently, I've worked with North Star Fund, Pride Foundation, Moksh Consulting, and Donors of Color Network. In the past, I've also worked with the MTV/Logo/VH1 Social Impact team, Southern Poverty Law Center, and the Aspen Planning and Evaluation Program. I've worked in a variety of roles ranging from art directing, project managing, designing posters and emails, copy editing, video editing, and so much more.

I have experience working with a whole variety of Adobe tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects and have built websites using Squarespace, webflow, and Wix.

My poetry has appeared in Best American Poetry 2021, Blood Orange Review, Pigeon Pages, The Margins, The Slowdown, underblong, and in other timelines of the multiverse. An installation of my poem “black and brown people on shark tank,” that I designed is on display at Cherry Street Pier in Philadelphia, PA. I am in post-production for directorial debut short film, “Billo Rani" and currently live in Brooklyn, NY with my dust mites.

Throughout much of my work, I've centered community, social justice, and joy. I believe storytelling can create space for learning, dialogue, and change. I love collaborating with people to create something awesome. Let's work together!
